1.The proposed advertisements will have a detrimental impact on the character of the conservation area and the character of this listed building, and given the existing street character would be considered to be harmful to both of these heritage assets and the wider streetscene and character of the area, largely in part due to the unspoiled and residential character of the area where existing commercial uses have low key advertising. As such the proposal is considered contrary to policy CS9 and CS10 of the Adopted Core Strategy, where proposals should respect an areas character and either preserve or enhance the character and settings, and policy A3 and E5 of the Adopted Local Plan Part 2 where proposals should respect the local characteristics of the neighbourhood in terms of potential impact upon the scenic, historic, architectural, landscape or cultural settings, and should be in scale and in keeping with these features, where this proposal is considered to be of excessive scale.
