1.	The creation of the balcony would have a detrimental effect upon the amenities of neighbouring dwellings, upon the general character and atmosphere of the residential neighbourhood and upon the character of the dwelling so altered. Policy HOU19 of the Deposit Version of the Great Yarmouth Borough Wide Local states that extensions and alterations to dwellings will be permitted where the proposal is in keeping with the design of the existing dwelling and the character of the area and would not significantly affect the amenities of any neighbouring dwelling. The proposal is considered contrary to the provisions of this policy.
