| 1. | The illuminated advertisement signs shall comply with the guidance and recommendations of the Institute of Lighting Engineers 'Brightness of Illuminated Advertisements' Technical Report No. 5. The proposed lighting must not cause glare problems to trunk road users. No lighting source (lamp) shall be directly visible, or visible by reflection, to trunk road users. The lighing shall be static and not intermittent to avoid distraction of trunk road users. The signs shall not be illuminated or be constructed of reflective materials. The reason for these conditions are:- In the interests of highway safety. |
