The Borough Council considers that the proposal to extend the gardens of these properties would be likely to prejudice the future use of Pump Lane as a possible means of access to land to the south of the existing Westerley Way development, which is designated as a proposed playing field in the Deposit Version of the Borough-Wide Local Plan. Furthermore, the proposal may prejudice access to underground services, i.e. a sewage rising main and a highway surface water drain, which exist within the roadside verge, part of which forms the application site.
