| 1. | The proposed flat roof extension by virtue of its bulk and length adjoining the boundary constitutes an unneighbourly form of development that would be detrimental to the amenities enjoyed by the occupiers of the adjacent residential properties by reason of overshadowing and loss of visual amenity. |
| 2. | Policy HOU19 of the Deposit version of the Great Yarmouth Borough Wide Local Plan states that extensions and alterations to dwellings will be permitted where privacy and amenity of neighbours are adequately safe- guarded and that the amenities of the adjoining dwelling are not prejudiced and do not result in an overdevelopment of the site's curtilage. The proposal is contrary to the objective of the plan in both these respects and does not give due regard for residential amenity and the environment. |
