The site is within a Conservation Area where it is the Council's policy to preserve and enhance the character of the locality.It is considered that the proposal does not conform with this concept and that the installation of an autoteller machine into the existing timber doors would result in an incongruous feature which would be detrimental to the character and appearance of the building and to the visual amenities of the street scene.
