3.NOTES - Please read the notes on the following page carefully :-
4.1. The Repps, Martham and Thurne Internal Drainage Board would ask that all appropriate measures are taken to prevent any fuel spillage into the drain at the rear of the property, though this is not a Main Drain, it is a major watercourse to the pumped system. 2. Norfolk County Council Planning & Transportation Dept. - see attached letter. 3. Norfolk County Council Fire Service - see attached letter. 4. Borough Environmental Health Officer - the following would be applicable to help prevent contamination of the ground and ground water :- (i) The tank should be of the double skin variety, preferably with high and low level alarms to detect leakage. (ii) The tank should be placed on a solid reinforced concrete base (using sulphate resisting cement) and should be fully secured with strapping. (iii) In the event of the ground water level being high, de-watering may need to be employed to prevent water entering the excavation prior to the backfilling and setting up stresses within the tank and causing movement. (iv) If mild steel is to be used it should be fully coated to prevent corrosion. It is believed that rot-proof GRP tanks are now available.
