1.The proposed wind farm, due to the height and nature of the wind turbines and to the open character of the surrounding Broads landscape, will constitute a highly prominent feature in that landscape. Consequently it is considered to be contrary to policies CS.1, CS.3, C.1, C.3, B.1 and B.4 of the approved Norfolk Structure Plan, to policy I.11 of the Broads Local Plan (Consultation Draft May 1994) and to policies INF1 and INF3 of the pre-deposit consultation draft of the Great Yarmouth Borough-wide Local Plan since it will present an alien and visually damaging feature in an area of Broads landscape.
2.The proposed windfarm would have a significantly adverse impact upon Breydon Water SSSI/SPA/Ramsar site and its internationally important bird populations and consequently would be contrary to policies CS.1, CS.3, C.1, C.6, C.7 and B.1 of the approved Norfolk Structure Plan, to policies S.1 and C.7 of the Broads Local Plan (Consultation Draft May 1994) and to policies SO1 and NNV15 of pre-deposit consultation draft of the Great Yarmouth Borough-wide Local Plan.
3.The proposed windfarm would, due to its proximity to North Denes Aerodrome, pose a threat to the safety and viability of the heliport, the existance of which is vital to the economy of Great Yarmouth, and as a consequence would be contrary to policies SO1, EMP1, and INF3 of the pre-deposit consultation draft of the Great Yarmouth Borough-wide Local Plan and Policy CS.11 of the approved Norfolk Structure Plan.
