1.	The works would remove significant scaffold branches that are identifiable as the main branch structure of the tree which would introduce significant structural instabilities and promote the ingress of pathogen from the wounds created. The works are not good tree management and would actively damage the tree and reduce its lifespan. Moreover, the proposed works would remove a significant proportion of the tree's canopy which would reduce its amenity value. The tree works application is not supported by any professional arboricultural advice from an appropriate expert justifying the works applied for. The works are therefore considered unacceptable and contrary to Core Strategy (2015) Policy CS9, Local Plan Part 2 (2021) Policy E4 and Emerging Local Plan Policy NAT10 and the application shall be refused.
