| 1. | The Local Planning Authority considers that the Horse Chestnut tree is in good condition, is of sound health and vitality and its removal is not justified. The tree is highly visible and is an important contributor to the street-scene and makes a valued contribution to the amenity of the area. No arboricultural evidence has been submitted as part of the application to suggest otherwise and no evidence has been submitted to suggest that the tree is causing harm to public amenity or safety. The application is hereby refused as the tree is of good form, contributes positively to public amenity, and provides a significant contribution to the amenity of the area. Alternative works could be undertaken to reduce some of the concerns raised in the application. Removing the tree is therefore not justified and its loss would not be compensated by the proposed replacement trees. |
