REFUSAL OF CONSENT TO DISPLAY ADVERTISEMENTS
Part 3 - Particulars of application
Sign A as submitted within Planning Pack A (Printed Vinyl Graphic 2000mm x 1460mm x 5mm)
Part 4 - The Great Yarmouth Borough Council hereby give notice in pursuance of the above
mentioned Regulations that consent has been refused for the display of the advertisement referred to in Part 3 hereof for the following reasons:-
The proposed sign is located at the entrance to Bowling Green Walk and is considered to have an adverse impact upon the wider conservation area. The Local Planning Authority with special regard to the conservation area considers the additional sign to have a negative impact. The sign is within a visible location and is considered a proliferation by extensively covering a potentially attractive gable end. The proposal does not enhance the conservation area and is considered a detraction. The size and design of the advert makes it highly visible and is not considered suitable in the proposed location.
Accordingly the proposal is considered contrary to parts A-E of saved policy BNV22 of the Borough Wide Local Plan and part A of policy CS10 of the adopted Core Strategy. |
5. | STATEMENT OF POSITIVE ENGAGEMENT: In accordance with the NPPF, in determining this application for planning permission, the Borough Council has approached it in a positive and proactive way and where possible has sought solutions to problems to achieve the aim of approving sustainable development. Unfortunately, despite this, in this particular case the development is not considered to represent sustainable or an acceptable form of development and has been refused for the reasons set out above. |
