1.No part of the proposed structure (post/totem sign) including its foundations, shall overhang or encroach upon highway land. The reason for the condition is :- In the interests of highway safety.
2.A minimum vertical clearance of 3 metres shall be maintained at all times between the signs attached to the proposed structure (post/totem sign) and the level of the adjacent public highway. The reason for the condition is :- In the interests of highway safety.
3.The level of illumination of the floodlighting / illuminated signs shall not at any time exceed 220cd/m2. No part of the source of the illumination shall at any time be directly visible to users of the adjacent public highway. The reason for the condition is :- In the interests of highway safety.
4.No external lighting shall be installed other than in accordance with the lighting plan as illustrated and described on the submitted plans. The lighting shall be retained such that it will not cause glare beyond the site boundaries. The reason for the condition is :- In the interests of highway safety.
5.REASON FOR APPROVAL OF THE APPLICATION :- The proposal meets the criteria of saved Policy BNV22 of the Great Yarmouth Borough-Wide Local Plan.
6.STATEMENT OF POSITIVE ENGAGEMENT: In dealing with this application Great Yarmouth Borough Council has actively sought to work with the applicant in a positive and proactive manner, in accordance with paragraphs 186 and 187 of the NPPF.
7.NOTES - Please read the following notes carefully:- This development involves a sign that may affect the public highway. The applicant should note that Norfolk County Council as Highway Authority reserves the right under the general provisions of Common Law and Section 152 of the Highways Act 1980 to seek the removal of any sign causing an obstruction or nuisance, or which obscures or hinders the ready interpretation of a road traffic sign.
