| 1. | The proposed extension is not in keeping with the character of the dwelling by the use of the heavy upvc windows which cause a form of development which is out of keeping with the character of the dwelling house. As such the proposed development does not comply with Policy HOU18 of the Borough Wide Local Plan which states extensions and alterations to dwellings need to be in keeping with the character of the area and the design of the existing dwelling. |
| 2. | The design of this extension on the frontage of the building is not sympathetic to the character of the conservation area. Materials such as those proposed in this form are more commonly sited to the rear of dwellings and not the front. Although the roof proposed is to be tiled the use of the upvc windows to the proposed scale are overbearing on the original character of the dwelling. Therefore the proposed development does not comply with Policy BNV10 of the Borough Wide Local Plan seeks to protect the character of a conservation area and allows development which is sympathetic in character or appearance of the area in terms of scale, height, form, massing, materials, siting and design. |
