6.NOTES - Please read the following notes from Environmental Health carefully:- FIRE SAFETY: Whilst the internal layout of the six proposed dwellings is not ideal by virtue of the means of escape being via a risk room (combined kitchen/living room), this may be mitigated with regard to the ground and first floor dwellings by the installation of an egress window in all of the proposed bedrooms provided a safe drop out of the first floor windows can be achieved. If a safe means of escape cannot be achieved then the internal layout should be reconsidered or alternatively a fire suppression system installed. NOISE: The proposed bedrooms are located at the front of the building and will face a busy 3-lane road. Noise from passing traffic is likely to cause regular sleep disturbance and this will have associated negative health implications for any future occupants. If the bedrooms are to remain at the front of the building then noise insulation and ventilation works should be implemented to ensure that noise levels in the bedrooms meets or betters the World Health Organisations Guideline Values for Community Noise in Specific Environments which fore bedrooms are :- 30dBL Aeq8-hour for continuous noise 45dBL LAMAX for single sound events ROOM SIZES: The internal dimensions of all rooms within the self-contained flats shall comply with the minimum requirements of the Councils standards for this type of property and expected occupancy of each dwelling. A copy of these standards is available from Environmental Health. LOCAL AIR QUALITY: The site will potentially generate a significant amount of dust during the construction process; therefore the following measures should be employed:- - An adequate supply of water shall be available for suppressing dust; - Mechanical cutting equipment with integral dust suppression should be used; - There should be no burning of any materials on site ADVISORY NOTE: The applicant is strongly recommended to advise neighbouring businesses and any residential occupiers of the proposal, together with contact details in the event of problems.
