1.Policy HOU18 of the Great Yarmouth Borough Wide Local PLan states that extensions and alterations to dwellings may be permitted where the privacy and amenity of neighbours are adequately safeguarded and the extension or alteration is in keeping with the design of the existing dwelling and the character of the area. Therefore given the above, it is the opinion of the Local Planning Authority that the proposed insertion of a window in the eastern gable of the bungalow would introduce a significant degree overlooking of neighbouring property and introduce an unwarranted intrusion into the privacy and amenities of nearby occupants. Furthermore the introduction of the window into the gable would be contrary to the original design concept for the development which sought to create a development that did not create issues of inter visibility with the original established development of this part of the village.
