| 1. | The proposed installation of the air source heat pump in close proximity to the boundary of the adjoining residential property will, by virtue of potential noise nuisance when the machine is in operation, constitute an unneighbourly form of development which would be detrimental to the amenities of the adjoining property. The noise assessment submitted with the application contains inaccuracies and as such is not considered adequate to properly assess the impact of sound levels generated by the air source heat pump, nor to assess the possible attenuation of these sound levels by an acoustic barrier. Consequently, in the absence of an amended noise assessment and details of measures to mitigate any perceived nuisance, the Local Planning Authority is of the opinion that the proposal is contrary to Policy HOU18 (criterion (ii)) of the adopted Great Yarmouth Borough-Wide Local Plan. |
