| 1. | Policy BNV10 of the Great Yarmouth Borough-Wide Local Plan (2001) states that new development in or adjacent to a conservation area will be required to be sympathetic to the character or appearance of the area in terms of scale, height, form, massing, materials, siting and design.
The property to which the application relates is located in a prominent position within the Ormesby St Margaret Conservation Area. The fixing of two solar thermal panels to the south facing roof of the dwelling would, it is considered, result in an alien feature which would detract from the appearance of the property and would not, therefore, meet the objective of the above policy which is to retain and enhance the character and appearance of the Conservation Area.
