| 1. | The proposed extensions to Fritton House Hotel because of the design, position, form and detail are considered by the Local Planning Authority to be inappropriate to this Grade ll* Listed Building. Policy BNV7 of the Great Yarmouth Borough-Wide Local Plan, seeks to protect the curtilages of listed buildings from development unless it can be shown to protect the building, its setting or the historic interest it possesses. The Local Planning Authority considers that the extension to form the accommodation wing, along with the resultant impact upon the tree, will erode and infringe upon the unique character of the curtilage and its historic interest, along with the setting of the listed building by introducing development that complies with the stated policy and one that is quite out of keeping with the design of the building and character of the area. |
