| 1. | The proposal represents an unsatisfactory cramped form of overdevelopment introduced into an established character and pattern of development which would result in significant detriment to the amenities of the neighbouring dwellings. In particular, the living conditions of those occupiers adjacent to the extended drive and parking/turning area would be adversely affected by loss of privacy and the noise and general disturbance from vehicular and pedestrian movements close to their dwellings. Equally, the occupants of the proposed dwelling would not enjoy satisfactory living conditions in view of such movements in close proximity to the dwelling and the relatively small amount of available private amenity space. The Borough Council considers, therefore, that the proposal is contrary to Policies HOU7/HOU8 (criteria (A) and (E)) and Policies HOU15 and HOU17 of the adopted Great Yarmouth Borough-Wide Local Plan. |
