The proposed installation of folding awnings on the frontage of the property which is a Grade 11 Listed Building is an inappropriate feature to introduce on the facade of this distinctive building located in a prominent location in the Market Place Conservation Area and is considered by the Local Planning Authority to be contrary to Policies BNV5, BNV7 and BNV18 of the Great Yarmouth Borough-Wide Local Plan. Furthermore it is considered that the given the limited vertical clearance available at the front of the canopy when extended the structure is likely to give rise a hazard to pedestrians on the highway footway.
