| 1. | Policy TR14 of the Borough - Wide Local Plan allows for extensions to holiday sites identified as being of prime importance to the area's tourism industry where such extensions are necessary to justify or facilitate the provision of visitor facilities for the site as a whole. The Burgh Hall Holiday park is not however designated as a "prime site" in the Local Plan. The plan makes no provision for the extension of "non - prime" holiday sites. |
| 2. | The expansion of the holiday site with static caravans and associated parking area in a long finger projecting into open countryside would be contrary to the objectives of Policy TCM 15 of the Borough - Wide Local Plan which seeks to prevent visual intrusion of holiday development into the countryside and Policy TR3 of the Local Plan which seeks to conserve the character of the countryside by focusing new development on the established holiday centres. The proposal would also be contrary to the provisions of Policy NNV7 of the Local Plan which seeks to protect the countryside from development not in keeping with its rural character. |
| 3. | The proposal would introduce additional vehicular movements onto an inadequate highway network and involve the increased use of a substandard access to the detriment of highway safety and freeflowing traffic, contrary to Policy TCM13 of the Great Yarmouth Borough - Wide Local Plan. |
