1.	The proposal to apply an illuminated box sign at fascia level and an illuminated projecting sign above fascia level is considered to be contrary to Policies BNV22 and BNV25 of the Great Yarmouth Borough-Wide Local Plan in that the proposal would detract from the appearance of the building and surrounding area within an approved Conservation Area where it is the Council's policy to preserve and enhance the character of the area. It is considered that the proposed internally illuminated signage constitutes an unduly conspicuous and alien feature which would detract from the character and appearance of the building and be detrimental to the visual amenities of the street scene. Moreover it is considered that the display of internally illuminated box sign on the traditional shopfront together with a projecting sign above the fascia level would be inappropriate in the Conservation Area.
