1.The maximum luminance of the projecting sign shall not exceed 800cd/m2. The reason for the condition is :- To preserve amenity and prevent danger to road users.
2.The individual letter signs shall not extend beyond the width of the front wall of the splayed bays on which they are to be displayed. The reason for the condition is :- For the avoidance of doubt and in the interests of visual amenity. Informative Note The Highway Authority has indicated that it reserves the right under Section 152 of the Highways Act 1980 and under the general provisions of Common Law to remove any sign causing dazzle, obstruction or nuisance. This permission does not purport to convey consent for the display of a sign on the central bay as shown on the submitted illustration and which has been deleted from the application in accordance with the fax communication received by the Local Planning Authority on 27 August 2002.
