1.	The maximum luminance of the signs shall not exceed the following values :- Regent Road entrance. Square fascia sign - 1600 cd/m2. Market Gates entrance. Projecting sign - 600 cd/m2. All uplighters and downlighters - 600 cd/m2. The reason for the condition is :- To preserve amenity and prevent danger to road users. Informative Note The Highway Authority has indicated that it reserves the right under Section 152 of the Highways Act 1980 and under the general provisions of Common Law to remove any sign causing dazzle, obstruction or nuisance.
