| 1. | Policy HOU19 of the Modified Deposit Version of the Great Yarmouth Borough Wide Local Plan states that extensions and alterations to dwellings will be permitted where the privacy and amenity of neighbours are adequately safeguarded. The extension or alteration must :- (a) Be in keeping with the design of the existing dwelling and the character of the area; (b) Not prejudice the amenities of a neighbouring dwelling ; and (c) not result in overdevelopment of the site's curtilage. The proposal is contrary to the objectives of policy HOU19 in that addition of a first floor extension over the the existing extension would result in a form of development contrary to criteria (b) that will have an adverse impact on the amenities of the occupiers of the adjoining properties by reason of overshadowing, loss of outlook and overlooking |
